Feeling Like You Belong

Middle school and high school come with many ups and downs. Fitting in, having friends, and feeling accepted seem so important. It is human nature to want to belong, and this plays a big role in developing a sense of identity. Even the most confident people have insecurities. We all feel disconnected and experience self-doubt at times.

When I feel this way, there are a few things I focus on:

  • Treating myself with kindness instead of being overly critical
  • Recognizing that I am human and will make mistakes
  • Avoiding negative self-talk
  • Surrounding myself with supportive and inspiring friends
  • Staying away from things I know are not good for me

Be kind to yourself. You deserve it.
